In addition to his full-time role as Booths Music’s web manager, James Aspinall is a passionate member of our tuition team, sharing his love of drumming with students of all levels—from complete beginners to advanced players. With a particular flair for funk, James enjoys teaching a wide variety of styles including rock, indie, metal, jazz, and more, helping each student discover their own rhythm and groove.
James is well-versed in the Rockschool syllabus for those who wish to follow a structured grade path. But beyond exams, he places strong emphasis on building all-round skills—technique, improvisation, sight reading, timing—and most importantly, having fun behind the kit. His lessons are designed to inspire confidence and creativity, whether you’re playing for pleasure or pursuing your musical goals.
